::Talking with friends::

No really guys, you need to check out the Axiom speakers. They're absolutely fantastic. On top of that the forum has some great advice on setup and troubleshooting of your entire home theatre. Then you can see some pictures of peoples setup's and eventually talk about the face your cat makes when a thermometer is shoved up it's rectum.

Maybe I won't start that conversation.

Aw, c'mon. It's fun.

My cats don't really seem to care anymore.

I just order the W22's. Now I can lose more cats in the walls.

The next 3 pictures will show you my delima with the W22's.

There is a floor that runs through the bottom of the hole. I was hoping to find the floor starting on the other side of the studs, but no.

I called Axiom. I'm returning the W22's and waiting for the availability of the new on-wall W22's.

My only other option, at this point would be to move the speakers and TV up 6 inches. To me 6 inches would be too high and I would be looking up instead of straight ahead.

I want to thank Axiom for being so respectful of my concerns.

How unfortunate, good thing Axiom redisgned the 22 series for an onwall style which should work very well for you and I would think makes the in/onwall style obsolete.

I don't think the true on-wall will make the in/on wall design obsolete. I am happy they went with a full on-wall solution as I thought it was missing from their lineup, but the current W design is one of the reasons I chose these in the 1st place. I thought this was a unique design that mitigated some of the natural compromise of decreased cabinet volume in a true on-wall solution. In fact, try to find a full on-wall solution that can reach down to 80Hz +-3dB that isn't crazily priced. That and discovering the QS8's is what lead me to Axiom.

I don't know what Axiom's plans are, but I do hope that they keep the current design available for those that can accomodate this design in their walls.

And Catbrat - very glad that Axiom is looking after you. I am very curious to learn more about their up and coming on-wall design and what your impressions will be. Good luck!

I do not forsee too many people looking to buy an onwall that requires them to put holes in their walls. The W series as it now stands, I predict is destined to go the same way as the M40. The simpler ease of installation of the new On Wall series will win.

Yeah Jay, you're probably right. I was thinking of it technically, not from a general consumer point of view. The ease of installation will likely win over the benefit of the larger cabinet volume. Especially if the new design sounds 'similarly good' to the current design. I just don't like to think I bought an obsolete product ;\)
