Yeah, between dagger fall, morrowind, and oblivion I have logged who knows how many hundreds of hours. Not sure of the exact amount for morrowind and daggerfall because I don't think it tells you the playtime. I logged about 120 hours into oblivion and never did quite finish all of the side quests (never got any of the expansions either.) I'm guessing I EASILY doubled that time on morrowind as my character was maxed out at level 74 with all major, all minor, and many misc stats maxed out to 100. Daggerfall was probably somewhere around 100 hours as well, but maybe a little less as I tend to spend less time in front of a computer gaming than on the couch with a console.

I never did play Arena but I downloaded it with DosBox from Bethesda's website a few months ago... still haven't installed it though.

I sat down once after work (And before class) and again after class to play som FFXIII on the PS3 last night. I played for a total of about 1h40m . So far I am really enjoying the game. There are definite pluses and minuses that I see at this point:

Pros:
-Extremely beautiful graphics (during both cutscens and battles)
-The evironment is very detailed so far
-EXCELLENT sound, including surround sound and LFE effects, mabye some of the best in a video game.
-the transition from roaming to battles happens very quick. This is a huge plus for me because I can't stand RPG's that tend to hang, slow down, or go into excessive loading screens for every battle encounter. (thinking of lost odyssey here)
-The pace is very fast which is good.
-Excellent character development and interaction so far.

Cons:
-linear so far, and based on reviews I have another 20 hours of this \:\(
-only being able to control 1 character in battle is a bit different for me in a jRPG... maybe a con but maybe not as I am really starting to like the fast paced flow of the battles.
-Right now the battle system consists of just pushing x a lot. I think that the battle system will really develop into something interesting and challenging though.
-A heal potion heals the entire party??? Come on- I've never heard of an RPG where you didn't have to select who to heal in battle (unless you have a heal-all spell or something)

I'm anxious to play more and see how things unravel.

I have almost 300 hours into Oblivion and I bet I haven't played it in a year or so. I used to just run around and explore for hours. The map is just stupid huge, and then when you add in all the caves and building... Holy smokes. It would take you 15 minutes at least to run from one side to the other.

I'm really bad at games. Everytime a new console comes out I buy one and think this time I'm going to get into it, I play a game for a week and get frustrated.

Last was Oblivion and the 360.

The only games I've played and enjoyed was the original Zelda and "Mist" on the the PC.

Wish I could find some games I like. The fighting is okay, but I enjoy the thinking more and hate having to start over chapters again and again.

I just don't find the time, to get all the controls and fighting styles down for each game. Play for a few hours, then it might be 2 weeks and I'm starting over again with the "feel" of the game

As an update to my FF XIII playing. I am now about 3+ hours into the game and I can say that I am pretty much hooked. I have unlocked more battle options so battles no longer are just pressing x repeatedly but are pretty sweet. I also have unlocked the main system of leveling up which is really unique. All in all I would say that this is a very good game.

The leveling up system is very similar to FF-X, and FF-XII International Zodiac Job System.

I'm about 7 hours into the game now. It's OK. I like the story. I'm not normally one who likes the combat system in RPGs, so I figured the slimmed down one in this would be more appealing. It still isn't. I really liked the combat in XII.

Get a horse, exploring goes a lot faster. Also get 100% chameleon and you can run through caves and dungeons w/o anything seeing you.
I've pretty much maxed out my character and done most of all the quests except for closing all the gates. If a new one is coming out I better get on it.

I liked everything else about Oblivion except for the gate levels. Ugh, those were bad. Well, I should say "the one" because I only visited one gate. \:\(

I agree... not very well implemented. All red and ugly looking with little change in scenery.

They were actually cool for the first couple of times, until you realized they were all pretty much the same.

Getting to near the end of Dragon Age Origins. Like always, it's taking me forever because I only play games in short but ambitious spurts but I'm still enjoying it very much. I don't think I'll ever finish Oblivion and it's expansions unless they invent a new life extending science.
