i tried this in another forum and didn't get enough response to try this out.... i've got 35' each of 2 cat5 and 2 cat 6 run to behind my screen from the laundry room, the shelves in here are 16" deep which will accomodate a bluray and a pre/pro but not the amplifiers, my thoughts are to use baluns for line level audio from the pre/pro to the amlplifiers behind the screen... or scrap the idea and fish coaxial cable, did i mention i hate attics!

Yeah, those Muxlabs will work. I haven't used them personally, but if you've only got Cat5, not many options.
However, if you have components in another room, unless you use an RF remote, you want might want to have 1 pair of wires in a Cat5 cable to be used for an IR remote extender.
I always have extra Cat5's run so that I can do that.
