Finally got the speaker wire in wall and now I'm wondering what everyone does for a wall plate? The speaker is so flush with the wall there isn't much room for anything. Thoughts? Thanks!

I just got some QS4s and used the T-brackets that came with them. It worked flawless.

If you use the supplied T-bracket, you'll need to bare wire it, there's no room for Banana plugs. Here's a wee hint. Bend the "tangs" on the T-bracket OUT slightly with a pair of pliers to help guide the speaker clips in.

Some people have used a mounting plaque however...ask MarkSJohnson...he plaq-u-lated his QS8's.

Should have been a little more specific. I'm curious about wiring the speaker. Putting even a plate with a "hole" in it is fairly large. Do you guys just put a little hole in the wall and feed the wire directly in?

Josh, my thought would be that there isn't a compelling need for anything. Simply wire directly to the QS8 terminals.

This is excellent advice from Adrian. It really does help the clips "catch" into the slots on the back of the speakers when you try to slide them down to secure the speakers onto the bracket.

I drilled a hole in the wall directly behind where the posts are on the back of the QS8's and fished the wire up through the ceiling. Makes for a super clean look (before that I had run the wire up the wall into a hole in the ceiling).

However the bit about pulling the lip on the T-brackets out just a tad really is good advice. I didn't do this the first time around and after hanging on the wall just fine for months, I came home one day to find my QS8 laying on the floor, and a bare wire hanging ominously out of the wall where it once hung. There was also a rather roughed up printer sitting right underneath where the speaker had been hanging.

My QS8s are sitting over top the of the 1.5" x 3" hole the low voltage template leaves that the drywallers cut out for. I place the T bracket just to the side of the hole and used one of the cover plate screws to mount the outer edge of the T bracket to the template and then used 2 drywall screw in anchors for the rest of the T bracket, you can't see the big hole unless you are right beside the speaker and looking really hard to find it. I guess I should have taken some pics of it.
