hi all,

I was forced to part w/ my m60s a year ago (they went to my relatives' house, so at last they found a good home), and I've finally ordered a pair of M22s to replace them.

unfortunately, I cannot afford to buy the axiom stands. Do y'all have any suggestions on good 16 in. stands to buy that are significantly cheaper? I doubt i can DIY (time, resource availability, lack of tools, etc so please avoid that suggestion)

thanks!

Those have the same model number, so I guess I'd go with Amazon.com's price.

Ha ha.

I noticed Elemental Designs' 16" speaker stands were $40 the last time I was on their site. Can anyone vouch for their quality?

Oh, I just noticed they're the exact same stand. It's sad when ConsumerBot has to correct himself.

I got these for Sanus 18 inch speaker stands for my m22's. They're eighty bucks but they're very good looking. They're very good stands, too, very solid and the cherry matches the cherry M22s, as if they were designed for them. Eighteen inches is the perfect height for the M22s.

Thanks all! $30 seems like a good deal! (esp. w/ free amazon shipping)

Also, a friend of mine recommended using auralex mopads (since our couch is *very* low to the ground) without a stand - any thoughts?

if I put the on a 16 in. stand, the tweeter would sit a little more than a foot above my head. I appreciate the advice =)

You could use the Mopads on the stand, to angle the speakers down. A foot above ear level isn't that bad. Some people have reported preferring the sound of above, rather than below the ears.
