Cat: I seriously, with no jokes, no prurient asides, hope that you're kidding. If it's by choice, then that'd be OK, but if not...

I know not one of you and I've been around here for a very short time. I was happy for Mike D's woodshop successes, felt badly that Mark lost a good friend, glad that you'r cat isn't really behind the HT wall, etc. Your single sentence made me feel the hurt that I see so many of my friends going through--men, women, old, young, straight, gay----no matter.

It affects your life in ways you don't even know--and not many are good. It's not all just psych shit, either. There can be physical consequences from those psych pains.

Everyone deserves to be happy. My life would have been all f'peaches and cream if half of the assholes in my life had not been such miserable pricks. I've only been in and out of therapy for 29 years because so many of the people I've had to deal with weren't. I'm OK; they're not!

So, if this is a constant source of distress for you, I really hope you can take the first steps to finding a solution to this and any voids in your life. Your highly developed sense of humor
is being wasted if it has to be the container lid of your unhappiness.

10 years deserves a free plane ticket to Vegas and a free ticket into the 'Chicken Coup' if ya ask me.

Yeah, I doubt I'd wait till after the movie if it'd been 10 freakin years! Good God man my problems pail in comparison to yours. Now I feel like a shmuck for complaining! Lol

lol. Yep, it's been 10 years alright. But I've survived it ok. I prefer this to a bad marriage anyday, and I've had one good one and 2 bad ones. I've also been through 5 years of therapy during those 10 years, though not by choice. During that 5 years I've learned a tremendous amount about myself and human behavior, and have come out the better for it.

Well, that sounds a bit better. You are among the minority, since you sought outside advice---and feel better off for it.
Good for you!

And I'm totally with you on the a-good-nothing-is better-than-a-bad-something philosophy. But I guess I was always content to just have a slice of cake, whether I wanted the whole thing or not.

Quite often, I only think I want the whole cake, when, after a slice, I'm good. Only Elizabeth Taylor still thinks ya gotta marry 'em before ya ken do 'em.

And alone doesn't thave to mean lonely.

Shit, I smell the dog's breakfast burning on the stove! Gotta go!

You've been cruising the archives, haven't you? I think that's been CatBrat's response to scores of posts.

You forgot to mention your virtual meltdown over the validity of Bbigwyres status as a non-fictional character. Not that I'm keeping track or anything. ;\)

Come to think of it, I'm going to envy you the day you finally do find a lucky young lady who accepts your advances... That'll be one of the greatest nuts of all time brutha!!!

I've forced myself to go two weeks before because it's so much more satisfying... I can't even fathom what a 10-year nut would feel like! \:o
