after speaking with brent who assured me the FMB would hold a vp150, ordered and received it. measured, drilled and mounted the vp150 to the bottom of the top of the ent center, so it now hangs just above the plasma screen. looks great even to the wife, now i just need her help to angle the face slightly downwards, which she cannot understand..if i can get a shot with the camcorder (while she's not home), i'll send it to amie.

I would love to see a shot of that.
In knowing how large the vp150 is, i'm curious to see the FMB in action.

Yeah! C'mon. You can say this and then not post pics!

I wasn't sure if the bracket could do it.

i can probably get a shot, but the fmb is hidden. on a i don't believe it note..while the wife was out, with help i angled the face of the 150 downwards slightly, and watched tv. when she returned an plopped on the couch, she asked why she could hear "the people" better. i was shocked, then explained what i had done.

twodan19,

On which side of the VP150 did you attach the FMB; the top, the back, or the bottom?

I have my VP150 (or will have, when it arrives) on a shelf UNDER my HDTV. This will work, but I'd like to angle the VP150 up a little, because it is only about 24" off the ground. Set up the way you have it, if you wanted to, could you angle your VP150 up a little, as well as down?

Photo would sure help.

Thanks.

the new vp150 has a threaded allen bolt on the rear already. the fmb screws into it. the tricky part was measurintg where to drill holes and countersink the screws on the top of the EC to mount the bracket to the underside. yes, the bracket angles both left to right and vertically. i first thought $35.00 was a little much, but sure made the job easier, so it was worth it.

just in case you didn't think of it already -- if you only need it angled up a little you can use the vp150 upside down, just flip the grill over and it'll look normal.

Thanks twodan19. It's good to know I have the option of mounting the speaker with the FMB if I choose.

Yeah Willy, I thought of flipping it, and that might work. But, the shelf is tight up under the shelf on which the HDTV sits, and I think the VP150 would be shooting too much of it's signal into the bottom of that shelf. Even if it doesn't do that, it might be shooting the signal at too high an angle. I only need to angle it up a little. I know I could just stick a hunk of wood under the VP150 to tilt it a little, but that's an ugly alternative. I'll just have to wait until the speaker arrives to be sure what to do. When it does arrive, flipping it will be the first thing I try. Thanks.

If it is angled too steeply upward when you flip it, try this trick:

Put two small, rubber feet on the front edge and use 2 of those rubber door-stops in the back. You can push them in or pull them out to adjust the tilt.

Hope that helps...
