I'm keeping the W100. It may be obsolete someday soon too. But I've had it beyond the 30 day trial and I really don't want to have to fix another hole in the wall. \:\)

I'm adding more wood to the left of the stud that's there with some liquid nails because the center for the next bracket will be close to the left edge of the existing stud. Fortunately there's a stud in exact center of where the bracket will go for the left speaker.

Don't get me wrong I agree with you, the better product I beleive is the W22 as it stands(pure speculation on my part as I have listened to neither), but we all know the better product doesn't always win.

I thought this was a unique design that mitigated some of the natural compromise of decreased cabinet volume in a true on-wall solution. In fact, try to find a full on-wall solution that can reach down to 80Hz +-3dB that isn't crazily priced. That and discovering the QS8's is what lead me to Axiom.

The W's is what brought me to the Axiom website the first time from an internet search for in-wall speakers and also why I stayed researched. And the reason I bought was the W's and QSs.

I cared too much about being able to tune the speakers by moving them around, that's why I didn't go with in/on walls. But if I would have cared more about a clean look and less about being able to move the speaker around, I definately would have gone with the in-walls over the on-walls. I'm sure some people would not want to cut a hole in their wall, but 'clean-look' fanatics would cut them in a heart beat to hide them away neatly.

Therefore I hope Axiom keeeps them in their line-up as they are a fantastic buy for the price compared to other in-walls which I doubt sound near as good, but cost much more.

After talking to JC, the on walls will look exactly like the on/in walls after mounting them. They just don't have the back section that sticks out. I'm hoping that they will sound as good. I can't see where the little 4 inch section in the back would help all that much.

Edit: I plan to put a hole through the wall to the other room behind the speakers into a closet where the electonics will go, after I get an RF remote.

Yeah, I'd like to be able to tune the speakers, but my room configuration just didn't allow for floorstanders or even an M22 with an FMB. True on-walls were my only option. Otherwise I'd be joining the M80's club!

That being said, I do really appreciate the absolutely clean look of the install with no wires to be seen as does anyone I've had over.

And as far as value goes, the W's are just amazing. As I may have mentioned elsewhere, I recently built an HT for my in-laws and used another speaker brand on-walls. Sure I'm biased and the rooms are very different, but they paid wwaaaaayyyy more than I did for a sound that is somewhat similar but not quite as good IMHO (even my wife thinks so).

As I said in my earlier post, a challenge is to find an on-wall that plays down to 80Hz at the same price point as the W's. (Note - if anybody does find something, please don't tell me as I no longer care to know )

I don't necessarily think that the inwalls would become obsolete, many competitive speakers require the use of a cut-hole mount. I guess it depends if an on-wall will maintain a "clean" appearance or not with little compromise...anyway, the consumer will vote with their $$, as long as there is a demand for in-walls, I'm sure they'll be around awhile.

Hmm, on wall 22's eh? Methinks that might make the perfect height speakers! More temptation for an upgrade. damn.

I may be getting one of the first pairs. They're keeping my money for the W22's I returned and will be shipping these On Wall 22's on or around April 1.

Hmmm. The Axiom office must be closed today. I've sent 2 e-mails and called, but no response.

They said they would send out a pair of on-wall M22's on or before April 1, but so far, nothing. Wait, wait, wait some more, I guess.
