As a general rule, Axiom tries to get each iteration of the speaker to a more flat response on and off axis. When we've spoken about this, Ian has emphasized the off axis response as something they've really been working on recently. That said, I don't know of any specific differences between the VP150ti and the VP150v2.

Did the earliest versions of the VP150 have a different tweeter arrangement?

I don't think any production versions of the 150 had a different tweeter arrangement. I remember Ian saying some time ago that they'd tried a bunch in the lab, and this one had the best characteristics.

Hello all,

Thank you for the responses. It is clear that there are some differences but nothing major. I recently purchased a VP150 that is a version 1 or Ti series. I just wanted to know the differences between it and the version two.

I will probably just end up covering it in Rosewood to match my subs and M80s.

I have some M1ti's and the tweeters are definitely different than my M60 V2 and VP100 V2. They don't even look the same. I don't know if those are the tweeters on the V1 VP150 or not, but if I were matching a VP 150 to Axiom fronts, I would go with V2 all around.

The M1's would have had the hybrid tweeter as did the original QS4s, IIRC. The VP100/150 and the rest of the Axiom lineup as it now stands all have had the same tweeter from inception.

There's been more changes than just the housing, but I don't know the details.
