Hi guys, I have my m60 in cabinets raised off floor about 18 inches. Note thAt the incabinets have a single large oval front port.
Because of the hiegth and port size, when I take grills off, I can see the white fiber fill stuff.
Can I put some thing in there to mask the look of that stuff, like black window screen material?

not sure why you could not, might look cool if done right.

Cool, thanks for tolerating a silly question! Every couple weeks I pull the grills to enjoy seeing the engineering in action, and seeing the batting subtracted from the coolness factor- but I didn't want to compromise with sound...

interesting that I've never noticed the batting in my old m60's or current m80's. I wonder if you could move it aside with a long screw driver or something, or remove one of the front drivers to reach in and adjust.

Hi axiomoholic,

Shouldn't be any problem using the screen material. It might move back and forth a bit with the exiting pressure from deep bass (unless you stretch it taught) but I can't see that it will inhibit the performance of the speakers. It might even be amusing to watch if you're very bored.

Moving the batting material might be an easier alternative. It isn't as if the material is scientifically placed inside the enclosure. It's just there to provide some damping.

Regards,

Alan

M60 In-Cabinet Speaker...

M60 Floorstanding Speakers...

I've never been considered to be a brilliant person and I back that up time and time again but I'd be willing to bet there's a reason why the OP might see the baffling material in his M60 In-Cabinet speakers that are mounted 18 inches above the floor while you've never noticed it showing in your old M60 or current M80 Floorstanding speakers Randy.
