First I would to apologize to whoever registered the name "newbie" before me.

This is not him/her.

I have the m22ti and I currently have them set up as a 2 channel stereo system. I have a small room; roughly 12'X12' and I only have rought 2 feet of space between the left and right channels. Is this good postioning for these speakers or not? What is the (roughly) optimal spacing for these speakers? I might have to rearrange my cramp room.

Thanks for the info.

As a rule of thumb, your speakers should be as far apart from each other as you are from them. Like an equilateral triangle. As an example, my listening position is about 7' from the speakers, so I have my M3's about 6 1/2' apart.
Hope this helps.
