Thank you For all your input grin
My QS 8's ended up 5'1"(bottom of speaker) from the floor. This is approx 2' above ear level for me. It seems to work well for me.

solarrdadd, I mounted QS8's with the fmb's, and have no complaints. They are very sturdy brackets, and you can adjust for different speaker positioning, tilt, twist, etc.

Very good, WUP; your 2' real world experience has been added to the data bank and will figure into the typical number in the future. Enjoy.

Solardadd, I used FMB's for my QS8's and they work great. the QS8 has a bolt in the center which the FMB attaches with and the FMB is very sturdy.

They say 2-3 feet so the center of my tweeters are exactly 2'6" above ear level smile Oh, and the QS8s sound great right there!

Ok, well, i got my final shipment of speakers from Axiom today. I received my two QS8 surrounds. The only thing i'm waiting for now is for UPS to come and pick up the VP180v3 center back (remember, they shipped me the one with 2 speaker post instead of the one with 4 speaker post that i ordered)

well, uncle solarrdadd does not dissappoint, who wants some box porn!?! come and get it little kids!

the first thing i'd like to say is that the speakers have a good weight and feel to them; they are not flimsy cheap speakers. very well made and yes, they have 4 grill covers, one for each driver and are magnetic to confirm with the V3 standards. i can't wait until later on today to install them and hear what it's all about.

here is the initial boxes delivered with one opened to make sure it wasn't a box of rocks or something! I opened them in front of the bigger members of the family so they could also welcome them to the family!

lets take a peek inside the box, wonder what's in there...oh Lord, an Axiom
QS8v3, now how did that get in there! manual and extras too, isn't that special!

well, here it is, out of the box, can't wait to show off either i'm sure!

like most of us when we were little, we liked to run around the house with no shirt or pants on; it just seamed natural and what did we expect with the whole family doing it. gotta bring the little ones up right ya know!

of course, we also never had a problem showing off that back while we had nothing on either!

and of course the audio stork who delivered you left a mounting bracket, post wrench and some lower-back bumpers for ya!

that's it for now, i'll be installing these boys later today. i'm gonna take a breather and listen to some jazz on the sirius radio and wait for the UPS person.

i will throw up some install/installed pictures when i'm done and let you know what i think with some initial test media later on. My audio upgrades to my HT system are now complete. wink
