An advisor from SVS told me that the PB12NSD is comparable to the EP600 what do you guys think of it?

I have heard neither of them but I just think the "ADVISOR" is giving you very bad advice. If anything, the EP600 should be compared to the PB13 Ultra IMO.

That's what I thought so. Since I have never heard neither of them can't argue.

Um, no.

I have the older but comparable SVS PB12-ISD. I have heard the EP600 in a comparison with the PB-13 Ultra.

I think EP600 is much better in every way than the lower-priced SVS subs.

The SVS subs are very good, but they're not better than the Axiom subs at half the price, IMO.

I have heard both and as good as the PB12-nsd is it shouldn't really be compared to the EP600, the EP500 would be a closer comparison and the PB12 is still a little below the 500, IMO.

So is this the law of diminishing returns? You say the PB12 is a little below the 500, but the EP500 is $1230, and and PB12 is $599. More than twice as much... I want twice the performance if I'm going to pay twice as much:)

in a commrecial sub that would be the PB13, the ED A7-350 or 450, the EP800 and probably a few more. The A7-350 is the most inexpensive of the lot.

If you are willing and able to build your own, you can do it for somewhere around $1K with drivers from Exodos, AE or the like.

Law of diminishing returns is exactly it, for some the price point where it starts is much higher than others.

is it the PB12 NSD thats close in performance to the EP500 or the PB12plus or the older PB12 ultra? it's an old list but it helped with my choice to go with EP500.

the NSD has a 300watt amp. wouldn't it be on par with the EP350?

They are on par power wise yes but still completely different price points. I think that Axiom probably provides better sound per watt but not necessarily the best price per watt if that makes since. This is the very reason i chose to go with SVS for my sub, i am not going to say that svs is better or worse as there are far too many variables for that and i havent even heard an axiom but what i can say is that for 600 dollars SVS provides one flipping good sub. With that being said, i am going to talk to them about going up to their next model up which is $1,150 but will also revisit HSU and Axiom at this price category.

Bottom line for my budget i didnt feel at the time the 175 watt axiom would be as satisfying as the 300 watt svs even though others may say im way off base. I dont think you will lose going with either SVS or axiom. I make the same arguments as to why i didnt buy SVS speakers for the rest of my HT, i felt axiom provided a better value with more reviews favoring their products. I am happy with both decisons.
