I am helping a friend set up a new TV (brand new Panasonic 720p plasma).

Bought cables at Monoprice for the component video from the cable box and the Wii.

The RCA connections all around are not "tight". I perceive this as a cable quality problem, which is very surprising.

Does it make sense to simply squeeze the outer ring of the RCA connector a little with pliers? Or would you just send the cables back?

Thanks.

I would just give them a little squeeze, Tom.

I've done that, with good results.

And, as far as the RCA cables, a light squeeze with fingers or pliers should do the trick.

i agree, especially with the monoprice cables. i have some of their rca cables and yes, a light squeeze with pliers did the trick. don't squeeze too much, just a little and they will snug right up!

Tom I don't know what anybody else would do in your dire situation but I'd personally just put a little squeeze on the outer ring of the RCA connectors until you achieve a nice snug fit.

But that's just me.

I'm a bit surprised that no one has mentioned it yet...a gentle squeeze might tighten them up.

I started out with nothing & I've still got most of it left
