Description
Still have some work to do but at least I can now enjoy it.
Before starting I had never owned a cordless power tool. LOL

Decided on the Epson because its 1080p and gave the largest screen size due to the short throw distance in my small room.

When the Axioms arrived the VP150 was the only non FO speaker but it came damaged. A call on Wed and Axiom agreed to replace, I upgraded to the VP180 instead and it came in on Friday! It blends in better with the M60's. Thank you Axiom!

Nice looking setup and use of the space you have. Did you build the equipment cabinet yourself, looks nice. I’m glad the Axiom finally made a center speaker worthy of their towers.

Thanks Grunt.

Yeah the space where the cabinet is was originally just a 10 inch deep wall to go under some low duct work. I then framed another 12 inches behind it, built some boxes out of MDF, attached them to the 2"x4"'s, painted them black and cut some MDF shelves.

When you look at the cabinet, the black back of it is just the back of the drywall from the other side. I will cut 1 or 2 more holes in the back for ventilation and for ease or wiring.

The wire plates (excluding AC) are all mounted on a 1/4" thick MDF removable panel, essentially covering a big hole, for ease of access to all the wires.

Good thinking on the removable panel. I hate having to wire behind equipment, it’s such a pain. I was lucky (read to lazy to want to build anything) to find a house with an office right next to my HT room so I just have all my equipment on a storage rack that is totally open so great ventilation and easy access to everything. Not pretty but then no one is going to even see it unless I show it to them.

I like your position of the QS8s behind your seating and to the sides. In my last room that was the same position I found worked best in giving me side surround and a phantom rear effect.

Cheers,
Dean

Nice looking setup Terry!
I wish I could build a room like that for my system. How many feet do you have behind the seating positions?

Hey Mel, unfortunately the center seat is only 6" from the wall and curves out to a foot and a half on each side.

It's funny, originally the theater room was supposed to be where the instruments are. The odd shape to that room and less privacy lead me to change to the smaller room 10.9' x 15.5'. ( I'm glad I used screws and not nails when framing.)

I got introduced to Axiom because my brother remembered and suggested he could build me rear speakers like the QS8 to help in this small room.
For months I studied and read these forums and became a happy customer.

Wow, you room looks very neat, congrats! Don't you hate these monoprice HDMI cables, I have them as well, cheap but so damn stiff!

I love my monoprice HDMI cables because they are cheap, hate overpaying for stuff at retail stores. It would be nice if they were a little less ridgid but that low cost more than makes up for that short coming, IMO.
