i am trying to decide between the qs4, and qs8. Based on the room dimensions below, which would work best? I realize there is a significant difference in price, and I am trying to determine if it is justified based on room size and performance:

room is approx 19.5ft long by approx 15.5 wide. One 15.5ft wall has my Mits 55" widescreen with center speaker on top.
the back 15.5ft wall has two surrounds on wall, with the main couch approx 3 ft in front of the surrounds. I would like to either replace the polk sattelites in back with Axiom qs4 or qs8 and move the polks to the side(hang from ceiling), or leave the polks in back and hang the axioms on the side, or, just replace the polks in back with axioms, and leave the 5.1 setup. Any help would be appreciated!

I would upgrade all around and put the qs8's on side walls and put some m3ti's in back for a great 7.1 system. If that is to steep, just use your polk's for the back and still put the qs8's on the side. The wider range of the 8's versus the 4's makes for a much better sound quality in the rear. The QS's spread the sound out better and better suited to surrond's than rear center channels in a 7.1 sytem. You could go for a 6.1 system as I have and use 3 QS8's then the rear center should dispearse the sound. Good luck on the set up.

QS8's

QS8's

QS8's

QS8's

QS8's

purchase QS8's. They are better than QS4's and hardly more expensive. Come on, it's a no-brainer

$160 is hardly more expensive? I'm not poor or cheap, but that's not an insignificant amount. I'm just saying.

It's also interesting when you see that anyone buying a "tradional" M22/QS8/VP150 system is spending more on their surrounds than on the mains.

That's because those of owning or planning for that configuration secretly know that someday we will upgrade the M22s to M60s :-)
