What would you go for? (or is there something else I should consider?)
2311 - $898.00 3310 - $729.00

I don't believe the 2311 has pre-outs, if that's something you might want now or down the road.

All I know is the 3xxx are classed higher than the 2xxx receivers even if the 3310 is last years model its the better of the two. Like was mentioned above if a mfg won't include pre outs chances are it has a weak pre amp...food for thought?

Thanks for your input. Are all 3310 alike? or are there upgradeable features?

Not sure I understand that question, a 3310 is a 3310, to get more features/power etc. you have to move up to the 4310/11.

I figured out that the 3310 can upgrade to Audessy DSX for $100. That was the difference.
I decided to go with the 3311. Felt pleased with a deal from electronics expo that was just $120 more than the 3310. It shipped today:)

I love my 3808 and when the time comes to purchase a new receiver (several years down the road) I will likely go with another 3xxx or 4xxx denon model.

I'm still waiting for Denon to replace my barely used 3310 w/ the bad HDMI...

The newer 3xxx models appear to be lighter than the older units. Having owned a 3805, I'm sure it weighted about 38lbs....I'm not trying to alarm anyone..just an obersavtion on my part.

They have been making the cases lighter/thinner, using more plastic etc. over the years so going strictly by weight these days means very little, unless it is a huge drop in weight.
