The last M22 received has different airflow from the other 2. For that reason I suspect that the speaker has something wrong.

What do you mean by "different airflow"? You were able to feel puffs of air with the previous speakers but not with the latest one?

Have you tried switching their positions? If you put the new one on the center channel, that may be why it's getting the most bass. Kick drums are usually mixed in the middle.

Try swapping the speakers around and see if the bass output follows the channel assignment or the speaker.

The new one is already on the center channel and I have already switched positions and have had no change at all on the airflow.

Sorry for my lack of explanation. That's exactly what you wrote. The airflow coming out are much less prominent on the new M22 than on the ones I got first.

I think the most important question to ask you is how the speakers sound in a normal listening position since most people don’t sit close enough behind them to gauge the air flowing from the ports. I’d say that if the drivers are all moving and the speakers sound good then there’s nothing wrong with them. wink

Yeah, I really think you're over-thinking this all. If they don't sound good, that's one thing, but if they don't blow air at your wall, who cares?

This might sound stupid, but could the speaker stuffing be affecting the airflow...like blocking the port? Anyhow, I agree with Ken...if the airflow isn't affecting the sound quality, I'm not sure you should be too concerned.

Wouldn't airflow through the ports be a requirement for extended bass? I haven't tried to feel the airflow on my bookshelf M22's, but I have felt the air flow on the on-wall M22's and it can be quite forceful.

There are sealed speaker and sub designs. I'm not sure how they produce extended bass except using a lot of power. I can only assume though, that if a speaker wasn't designed that way, it must need sufficient airflow.
