I just win an auction at from Axiom deal. A brand new pair of M80v2 light maple finnish for 800$cnd. Yes unbelievable !
That will replace my M3, so a good improvement i bet.
Now i only have a litle concern about my a/v reciever. Do you guys think my Marantz SR5003, a 90watts power output will be enough ?

I use my M80s with a H/K 525, which is 75wpc. They work fine at the volumes I use them at.

Of course, you may find the 90wpc isn't good enough for you.

I thought about placing a bid on those but light maple just wouldn’t fit in my all black HT room. Congratulations on winning.

Philippe, congratulations on the auction win. As to the receiver, the answer always has to be the same: it depends on how loud of an average listening level you use and how wide the dynamic range of the program material is. The M80s are a bit more sensitive than average and are fairly easy to drive. The SR5003 should do the job at typical safe listening levels at home.

I do not listening my music/movies that loud. I have a big room yes but not wide. 12feets wide and 27feets deep and 8 celling. My listening position is at 10-11feets. I actually rarely push up to -10db on my reciever for my M3/EP350 and either for movies in 5.1
I will anyway give a short review of those M80 soonly. Also put some pics.

The 5003 would be similar to my Denon 1804 I had when I first bought my light maple M80s and it worked equally as well as my 3808. Congrats.

So today i have receive my M80v2 from Purolator. Damn two big boxes.
Right out of the boxe i can say these have the most beautifull finnish i've own from Axiom (light mapple). I have own black, boston cherry and high gloss cherry and those from my taste have the best looking (fit my room perfectly too). They have tan grilles and Noreen was so kind to ship me a pair of black grilles too for free (thank you very much once again). ALso that's a lot of speaker for the money !
So i took few minutes to set them properly. Yes i had to take over my EP350 and M3. They are drive by my Marantz SR5003 and my source is a cd player from Marantz too the SA8003.
I've put some of my fav cd's. Porcupine tree - The incident, Jeff Buckley - Grace and some Alicia Keys and his cd Unplugged.
I have to say those M80 can handle everything. The bass is strong and tight. The mids present and the upper octace from female voice are crisp. The male voice from Jeff Buckley is clean and it's like if he were still alive beside me smile If i can compare from my 2.1 listening (M3 and EP350), M80 give a most complete sound. They are close to the Focal 826V speaker i've own last year. I just do not have the high end gears i use to have to compare fairly (Naim) And i just gave them 1-2 hours max so they need more break time period even if i know most people here do not believe in break time wink.
Anyway i am for now a fully satisfied new M80 owner and i will post some pics tomorrow.
Thank for reading this litle review.
