"America, the Greatest Country God ever gave Man, was built on three bedrock principles: Freedom. Liberty. And Fear — that someone might take our Freedom and Liberty. But now, there are dark, optimistic forces trying to take away our Fear — forces with salt and pepper hair and way more Emmys than they need. They want to replace our Fear with reason. But never forget — “Reason” is just one letter away from “Treason.” Coincidence? Reasonable people would say it is, but America can’t afford to take that chance." - Stephen Colbert

Anybody going to The Rally to Restore Sanity and/or Fear tomorrow on the National Mall in Washington, D.C.?

pmbuko and I will be there. Should be a fun time.

I agree with Stephen Colbert on virtually everything, but he's delusional saying "America, the Greatest Country God ever gave Man". Even with god aside, it's a very erroneous and penetrable statement.

Anyhoo. If I lived closer I'd definitely participate. There's no country in the industrial world (or the world for that matter) more in need of a revolution.

Power to the people!

I think he's being sarcastic, Cam! smile

I really wanted to go, but I can't swing the time nor finances at the moment.

In two weeks, I'll have the money from the jobs that are currently taking all my time, but at the moment.....

And is that in the name of restoring sanity or in the name of restoring fear?

Just scoped out the Churchkey draft list. Theobroma sounds insane. I am curious.

I read that as 7 "taser" beers....that would be rather electrifying.

For anyone interested, here's a report on the event from DemocracyNow. It includes the keynote speech from Jon Stewart.

I followed the link to the Ralph Nader article.

Now I know why Peter is depressed.

Hey, kudos to the board members for making it through another major US election without any online vitriol.

Here's to us - cheers!

(Yes, I know it's only 10:30 AM here, but it's 5:30 PM somewhere)
