Huh...never thought about painting the grille. But I'll see if I can hold off. With a black TV frame, the grille may blend in nicely. we'll see.

Or just order the speakers, and grills, whatever color you want to blend. Options available are many.

I have a system with the R/L about six feet apart with the TV above them. I sure wish I had a center channel. I'm not a fan of the mixed stereo. You loose too much dialogue with that set up.

you did not give the room dimensions....

my room is a 10X10 room, and i have L/R/C. to be honest, i should have saved myself the money that i spent on the center. if anything i would recommend a 2.1 system. if you set the speakers up correctly, you won't miss the center, do you plan on aiming for best acoustics?...

just food for though.

and i am a big fan of a large center, as i have a vp180 in the family room.. so i am not against having a center, just in this specific application i do not think it is entirely needed..

Hi Hansang

I think you have a carbon copy of my wife. Cuz that is exactly the way it would have godne down in my home.

I do think that a L&R setup in a bedroom would work quite good. Imaging on Axiom speakers is excellent. |You really should have quit while you were ahead.

I also like the 2.1 idea. You can hide a small sub, even under the bed if you had too.

It would be like in those cheap motels, only you don't have to put a quarter in, just a really good action movie - LOL!

i have an 8" JBL in my room, and for the space it is perfect. i think i have the gain set to 1/2 or somewhere around there, you could even put it in the closet depending on how your room is designed, and if you keep your closet doors open?

or do a little wood working, and build yourself some closet doors, and use grill cloth to cover them laugh

Indeed.

The options today, especially from Axiom, will broadly suit anyone's decor.
Speakers and related accessories are designed for subtle aesthetics so much so that many manufacturers build speakers with more form than function.
But at least they look good.

If you are going with both L/R anyway, adding a centre channel will kick the hell out of the tv speakers and seriously provide a much clearer dialogue.

The ability to adjust center channel levels for dialogue is the main reason to run one, IMO.

Do receivers let you adjust the center channel level if you're running a Phantom Center?
