Well, I have the 180 hooked up and I really wasn't expecting much of an improvement from the 150 since I was - and still am - truly impressed with it. So I really was really thinking "this is as good as it gets"... let me tell you I was wrong!

When I removed the 180 from the box and set it down by the 150, I was like "the 150's a mini-me of the 180"... Then I noticed something else... the 180 is actually an M80 with the cones placed differently! lol!

Although it looks like the M80, I'm sure they did whatever it is they do to make dialogue stand out though, because when I hooked it and turned on the TV, I was amazed at the difference!

I haven't quite figured everything out yet though, I'm having an issue - not with the center - but with the room... when I am sitting to the left of it there somewhat of a "vibration" or "distortion" to the dialogue.. but if i move to the front of it it's amazingly clear! So I know this must have something to do with the the sound bouncing of something.. just can't figure out what it could be yet. (when I post pics I'll explain with a visual).

Overall I am way happier than I thought I would be!! i FINALLY broke out the ep800 out the box too! so trying to get, I'm a happy camper right now!

no sub when I play music...

on the receiver i can see the sub and the 2 fronts... but nothing out of the sub?? yet when I play a movie, no problem whatsoever? any ideas?

Maj, you haven't described your settings, but if, for example, the M80s are set "Large", and no other setting is employed, The M80s will get all the bass in the main channels, while the sub gets none of it. The sub would get the LFE channel intermittently present during movies to play.

In 2 channel mode on the 3808 you have to set the 2 channel speaker settings and in there you have to allow the sub to be LFE + Mains, if you desire to have the M80s as large otherwise set them to small then the LFE + Mains setting is moot as the receiver will default to sending the frequencies lower than the crossover to the sub regadless.

I fiddled with the settings and then the bass kicked in but to be honest with you I was kinda getting frustrated and I was just changing settings without taking note of what it was I was changing when it kicked in; so I didn't know what it was that made the change but thanks to your explanations and dbl checking with the receiver, I can see what caused the change. Thanks a bunch!

Well the distortion that I was (am) hearing is still there and even when I'm sitting directly in front of the centre. The thing is when I put my ear to it I can tell it's the left 5.25" woofer. When I crank up the volume it's not as evident, but when it's at lower levels it's really bad. If I apply a little pressure on it the distortion goes away.

You have luck about as bad as MDrew. Call Axiom and let them know, they will send you a new driver.

You know, I was saying the same thing to myself! lol! It's unbelievable! even my samsung 650 went out on me (bad capacitors). I fixed it myself, but damn... if it wasn't for bad luck...
