what are some of the technical reasons why I shouldn't put the 800 in front of (and below) the vp180?
the reason I ask... the only other place I have for the 800 is in a dead zone... soooo...

I don't see any problem with this.

As long as it does not interfere or create reflection problems from the 180, should work ok.

Maj, what's a "dead zone"? Generally, in a room that isn't square, the best place for a single sub is in the front corner farther from a doorway or other large opening.

Maj, what's a "dead zone"? Generally, in a room that isn't square, the best place for a single sub is in the front corner farther from a doorway or other large opening. The bass seems... well.. almost non existent (where i usually sit)... Here's my problem... I ordered the horizontal 800... and in the room i have it would be best in a corner (exactly where you suggest), but I just don't have that option in my set-up (lack of space).. but I canput it there if I stand it up. any suggestions on what I can use as "feet" that'll stay put? I'll try both options and see...

Just wanted to add that the "dead zone" is only in relation to where I sit to watch movies... When I'm in the kitchen (which is connected to the viewing room (behind where I sit), the bass kicks some serious ass! So I know it's just a matter of proper sub-placement.

I suggest placing it where your couch is, putting a few cushions on top, and sitting right on the ep800.

David - Tried it! And if it wasn't for the 800 being on a slant... I would have kept it that way! lol! jk of course (but the thought did cross my mind - or rather I was thinking of a way to customize my couch to have have it sit over the sub... haven't quite figured it out yet... still running some ideas through my head though... so if you can think of anything lemme know.

My couch is also in a bass null spot. Very irritating. Maybe I'll try moving the sub to the other corner of the room, if I can free it up from being a side table...
