I ran it yesterday and it seems to me these settings may not be right. When I looked at it the settings had my fronts at +12 center at +10 and my sub at
-10. Doesn't having it turned up like that cause problems? Strange thing is that it does sound great. The soundstage really seems to envelope me like it never has before and the 180 seems more open then it used to, but I am afraid that +12 settings are bad for my speakers. Granted I never listen to it that loud. Something that I don't understand is that I read "0" on the the receiver is reference for movie in the theater. If I did that my ears would bleed. I don't think I have ever turned mine up any louder than -15. Anyway, am I doing something wrong? I do have a spl meter but wanted to try the audyssey for the eq.

Something is definitely not right. Double check your speaker wiring for correct polarity, although audyssey should have caught this. If the polarity is wrong, you may have speakers that are out of phase.

Also, make sure you turn your sub way down when running audyssey. I have to turn my EP500 down to a 1/4 turn (10 o'clock) on the volume knob. With the sub at -10 and all your fronts at +10/12, audyssey is trying to level match the LCR speakers to the sub. Your settings tell me that the sub's volume was way too high...as audyssey is trying to bring your fronts/center levels way up and audyssey is trying to lower your sub level way down.

The volume control on your sub is too high. It's about 22 dB too high, so the setup subtracts the max of 10 dB from it, and adds 10 or 12 to the front to cover the distance. Turn down the volume on the sub, and run it again. You should be able to get the channel trims to be around 0 for the sub and center, and +2 for the mains.

Adding to Dana and Chris's correct advice, this article on properly calibrating Audyssey will help you. I recently posted it in another thread but you may not have seen it.

can you manually do the speaker level and still be able to use the audyssey eq or does it have to do everything.

Yes, you can change speaker levels "after Audyssey" but it's not recommended except maybe bumping the center/sub levels to tweak to your liking. I would leave the other speaker levels alone.
