Hello, i'm new here. I just built a new house and i'm very interested in Axiom Speaker.

I currently have a Yamaha receiver (RX-Z7). What speaker do you recommend? The home theater is 14x14 and 9 feet ceiling.
I need a 5.1 system.

thanks in advance

chuck

Welcome. I would think that it all depends on what will fit in the space you have available and your budget. I'd always start with their M80's if I could for the mains, then work down from there.

Have you tried the tab above called "HTWizard"?

First you need to tell us you application, mostly movies, music, what type, etc... then you need to give us your budget and then the people on this forum will make sure that you go well over it laugh

Thank you very much!

My main objective is Movie. I have speaker in the ceiling for music. I think that the biggest speaker i can install is the M60 because of the holes I already have in the wall (max clearance is 38 inch)

Pictures would be good. Installing speakers in holes in the wall is beginning to sound like a bad idea. This would alter how the speakers sound in a negative way.

Edit: Unless you buy speakers specifically made for this type of mounting system.

Well the classic setup would be M60 as main, VP150/180 as center and QS back. For the subwoofer there is a plenty of option avalaible. If you want go with Axiom, then get a EP500. Plenty of power, but wait... There is also a EP800 smile

If you are looking to place the speakers recessed into the wall then I would suggest the in cabinet series of speakers with the M60/M80s and the VP180 for center duty. the QS8's will be the speaker of choice for the surrounds and pick which ever sub you want from Axiom list of the EP350/500/600/800 or one from another company like Hsu, SVS(sonicboomaudio.com in Canada), eD(elemental Designs), or Epic to name a few others.

It'd be nice to know how deep those in-wall holes are, because the in-cabinet m60/m80 are roughly the same size, except the m60 is about 3 inches shallower. The M80 is 18 inches deep. Much too big for most walls.

But there is the in-wall M22 that could work, again depending on what kind of hole you're trying to fit.

Those in-cabinet speakers are really meant for false walls or walls with rear access(thru-wall) into an adjacent room.
