Can anyone suggest a good power line conditioner + surge protector for under $400? Thanks!

I don't know how good it is, but I've been using one by Monster that I purchased from Best Buy, a little over a year ago for $300.

Belkin PF60 from ecost.com. Panamax has some very highly rated ones as well.

I didn't pay near that much for my Tripplite Home Theater power bar 10, less than $200.

I paid $35 at Costco for my Belkin power bar and it works just fine (even has their "pure" power technology). I would only consider these fancy conditioners if either I would live in an older house where there might be indeed some power problems (newer home are usually pretty good) or if I already had everything that I wanted in my system and had extra cash (they do look good).

I'll second the PF60 as well. Had mine for the past year, no issues.

Belkin PF60 for me as well had it for well over two years now and no problems at all. I forget where I got it on line but I am sure it was around the $300 mark.

I just bought this Tripp Lite. My system has developed a new hum, so I was hoping the old Monster unit I had was being stupid and needed to be replaced, but the hum persists. The hum isn't constant, though, and I can't figure out what's causing it so far. Anyway, the Tripp Lite is doing what it needs to. I do want to get one of those UPS units that Chris linked to a while ago, though, when I move my system to the basement. Just because.
