Hi gang Proud owner of an Epic 80-500 system. 3 years old. Driven by an Onkyo 805. Recently, I've noticed a popping sound from the right rear surround. It only happens when I turn the system on, and sometimes when I'm changing channels. Sometimes its pretty loud, sometimes I can bearly hear it. Doesn't occur during play back, only when system comes on, and changing settings (inputs, channels, etc). Is my 805 going bad? So soon??? What do you think? Thanks for the help

Try switching your two surrounds and see if the popping follows the surround or stays with the location.

It does sound like an issue with the 805 but I would try as Ken suggestsd first, just in case the speaker for some reason is reacting with the changes in the avr. I would also turn off all multichannel processing in the 805 and run it stereo only to see if that stops the problem as well.
