The Fuller's London Porter was outstanding. Dark and full bodied with chocolate overtones and a nice clean finish. Very, very tasty.

Right now I'm drinking a BridgePort Supris, which was a recommended summer beer at BevMo. It's a blond ale and I can see why BevMo recommends it for summer drinking. it's tagline is "Big Beautiful Blonde Ale" - and I tend to agree. Surprisingly full flavored and yet refreshingly light going down. Especially nice in the hot* weather we've been having lately.

I've just gotten into the wine so much lately, i seem to have lost my taste for beer...
Maybe i need a good long summer working construction or something.

I feel the same way about wine, but the air's been on all day, it's still 78 degrees in the house, so after a glass of wine I'm grabbing an ice cold beer.

There's a time for wine, and there's a time for beer. There's also a time for hard liquor, but we won't go into that.

Considering there are now 1294 replies to this thread, has anyone actually read it from start to finish?

You mean all at once?

I do refer back to it periodically, and I am certain I've read the whole thread, but not from start to finish in one sitting.

I've enjoyed a couple nice summer beers lately - Drawbridge Blonde from Hale's in Seattle and Twilight from Deschutes.

I have a couple of cooking-with-beer recipes that I am eager to try. One is a Tres Leches cake (but also with Tres Cervezas) and the other is a Beeramisu. I'll keep you posted.

Beeramisu?? I'd love to try that one! Where did you find the recipe?

Beeramisu?
If you really do that one and it comes out, let me know.
It sounds lovely.

I'm going to have to make a stop in Washington state someday Tom, perhaps shortly after my California wine vacation, assuming i don't get the soon to be standard fingerprinting and anal probing through customs.
We just don't have access to nearly as many beers as you do and i'm keen on trying something new. I've gone through just about everything we have here in our MLC for imports.

I'd love to have the opportunity to share a pint with you if you're in the neighborhood, Chess.

If you are going to California anyway, be sure to go to a Bevmo. The selection of wine, beer and spirits is staggering. For me, the joy of beer is best captured with friends over a fresh pint of local craft beer. Bottles are okay, but I like my beer alive.

Good luck with that body-cavity search thing.
