Best Picture Oscar Nominations

Here is a spreadsheet I've been working on for my personal use. I thought I'd see if there was anyway to share it here. So far, it seems to be working.

It has the latest nominations at the top and goes all the way back to 1928 at the bottom. I've also been working on the Price to buy these from Amazon.com, which over time will change. The X under colum B just represents whether or not I own it, which would be meaningless for you.

Sometime back, USA skipped a year and they now call 2010 Oscars the 2011 Oscars. I've retained the old method so not to have a gap in the years.

Going back to 10 nominees seems so pointless. There's barely 5 movies "worthy" of a Best Picture nod, let alone 10.

That chart really shows how well Harvey Weinstein was at basically bribing Academy members in the mid to late 90's. A lot of Miramax on the list, most not particularly deserving.

Agreed. Some years I don't think there's any that qualify.

Half of communication is listening. You can't listen with your mouth.

He didn't have to. Everyone already worked for him or wanted to. Americans are mondo suckers for British accents and period costumes-------lots and lots of costumes, period.

Like Baywatch. It's the costumes.

Thanks for the list. It has inspired me to want to figure out how to automatically populate a worksheet with current Amazon pricing using macros and AWS. One day I'll actually figure that out and it'll be a good project.

What kind of cookies? Choc chip? Mmmm...

If I say nice things about your spreadsheet, will you share your cookies?

I gave up on that stupid award when Cuba Gooding Jr won for show me the money. Ed Norton was amazing that year in Primal Fear.

I felt better when Rene Zellweger won for Cold Mountain.
