Wireless connection from blu ray player to new router is complete. It wasn't real easy to set up but it finally happened over a period of some trial and error. Not all instructions were clear. Such as push button until leds flash. Seems simple enough after you do it the right way, but it didn't say to do it after the led's have been off for a while. It comes out of the box with led's steady on. Oh well.

Watched parts of a few movies from Netflix. Sound was Ok, but not great. Missing a lot of lower bass.

Listened to some jazz on youtube. Missing some upper end, but some recordings better than others.

Not a lot of movies on Netflix to stream. Not ones that I have a big interest in seeing anyway. I wonder if Blockbuster on-line or some other service is any better.

Vudu has just about every movie I want to see, but it is PPV not all you can eat like Netflix. The A/V quality of Vudu is incredible (provided you have a 9+ Mbps connection).

Currently, I only have a 5 Mbps connection. But, it's AT&T DSL. My only other choice that I know about is Time Warner Road Runner. It may be faster, but I have about 10 months left on a contract with AT&T that I renewed to get a better price.

At least they make VUDU easy to try out. No contract, no monthly fee, $2 per movie that's good for 2 days. Streaming available same day as the DVD hits the stores. Free trial period.

Edit: Correction. Their web site makes it sound like it's $2 per movie, but for new releases it's probably $6. Have to read the whole site. The first place I read it said that thousands of moves available at $2. A different place said that the prices range from .99 to 5.99.

Yeah, there are thousands at $2, but prices do vary.

I use it in combination with Netflix and Hulu (and now Amazon, since I'm a Prime member). Just look for the best price, quality, and availability when picking where to watch. My total recurring subscription cost is only about $40 a month, which is about the same as basic cable where I live. (I don't have cable at all.)

Netgear N600 router with dual G and N types was a good choice. This weekend, while I was streaming Netflix using N, I reloaded someones windows 7, and ran the updates using G at the same time. If I had only bought an N router like I was going to, I would of had to run wires to the other computer.

Glad to hear the Netgear 600 router worked out for you. Like you, I didn't find the setup ultra-easy, but I was able to get it working without having to call the 800 tech assistance line.
