No, I am not selling them, but since we sold our house (and I refused to let them negotiate my Axioms away from me), I was wondering what the new homeowners were going to use.

Well, tonight I found out.

I got a call from them asking a variety of questions... Boy was it easy to talk about things when the Realtor's weren't in the middle, anyway, they picked up this set:

Polk Audio Blackstone TL1600

Hope that they like them... I think that I will stick with my Axioms for a long time!

The package also comes with a powerful 50-watt subwoofer to add deep, rumbling explosions and room-thumping bass for all your favorite action flicks.

That's gonna sound awesome... wink grin

LOL. I know.

Then again, they wanted us to leave our old off-brand DVD/VCR/Radio with speakers setup... The whole thing was like $180 from WalMart about 9 years ago. It is a piece of crap, so they could have it.

Now I need to find an replacement setup with Blu-Ray, receiver, and speakers for about $400 for the living room. Just something to put some surround sound in the room and be better than the TV.

The reason I only get $400 is because I will be buying all new home theater gear in a few months and my wife won't let me get anything more. That's fine. I'll be happy with my Axioms and new theater when it is done.

I recently heard the Harmon Kardon HTIB package. It didn't sound too bad. The subwoofer didn't have that natural feel I'm now used to but it wasn't crappy either. They also had their surrounds turned up way to high which I found too distracting but I'm sure that could be corrected. Everything connects back to the BR player though so it doesn't allow for easy additions to input devices like a having a separate receiver.

I didn't pay attention to the exact model number and not sure what they payed for it but it wasn't the newest CP 65 or 55 or whatever that that cost over 1k. Looked like a $400 dollar system to me and if so, it sounded good for that price range. I could be wrong on the pricing though. They are not the type to reveal what they really spent so I didn't even bother asking.

With great power comes Awesome irresponsibility.

Funny enough, I paid less than $400 for my first Axiom setup-4 M1Ti's, a VP Zero, and a CS-100 sub with a Kenwood AVR-6050-brand new at Costco of all places. These days, you should be able to find something passable for $400.
