Chris, my guess is that during the time that it took you to change the settings on your camera, your HDMI cable got warmer and so did the picture. Maybe you should buy some more expensive cable

Actually for mine, the camera setting was the same (manual exposure, but auto white balance), only the room lighting changed. Those photos were an attempt to show how the human eye's color response changes to balance against the dominant light source.
