I've been noticing that dialogue out of my VP150 isn't that clear if you're sitting off axis. I was wondering if the VP180 has solved this issue, or if I should go with the Klipsch horn in their RC-64 ?
My mains are M-60s with QS8s as surrounds.
My setup sounds awesome when sitting directly in front but really starts to lack when sitting to the sides.

you want your front 3 speakers to be the same brand. I really liked my previous 150 that I had for a few years, and current 100 upstairs. don't notice any off axis issues in my larger rooms. I did upgrade my 150 to a 180, just to have better matching for my m80's, and it works very well and provides more impact overall.

There is still a drop of SPLs when listening to the VP180 but less noticeable than with the VP150. As long as you'll stich with a horizontal array for a center, you'll get this effect more or less no matter the brand (RC-64 included). The only way to get away with that is going with a vertical center.
What I noticed that the VP180 really improved is more natural vocals, clearer dialog, fuller sound, a better blend with my M80s and better bass guitar sound during concerts.

Could you run two 150s side by side ?

You will want to stick to the same brand for the centre channel. There would be a noticeable timbral mismatch in the front soundstage. However, for best possible off axis out of horizontal array comes from well engineered WM^TW designs but they still won't match the far off-axis listening of a vertical speaker.

What about an M22 beneath my VP150?

From what others have tried, a M2 or M22 will give you better off-axis than a VP150 or VP180, however you'll not get the depth in male vocals and bass that the VP180 offers. IMO, it's a trade-off and you need to pick whatever will suit your goal and what you can accommodate physically.

Yes. I'd choose in this order. I don't know anyone who's tried the VP with an M3 so I really don't know how that'd sound. The VP100 provides a bit more bass than just the M2 in my experience, but the M2 is much better with off-axis listening.

Joel, the best solution for narrow/irregular off-axis response is to use a vertical center with wide horizontal dispersion. Ideally, it would be the same as the mains, but more practically in most applications, a smaller unit very similar to the mains except in the low bass(e.g., M2, M22)works very well.
