I've alredy got an Epic 60-500 & the outdoor speakers and was thinking of the Audiobytes but the premium of shipping to Australia makes them relativly expensive (adds a 1/3rd on the US cost). I've been keeping any eye of the deals forum but they never seem to come up (or am I missing something?)
Thanks
Nathan

I don't think they have been on the auction site very often. Most of the stuff on there is what used to be the factory outlet stuff, so possibly the audiobytes rarely have Quality Control issues, or they don't mass produce them like the other speakers, make them as orders come up most likely.

I thought Axiom manufactured all of their speakers when they received an order. When I toured the plant I'm sure I recall Debbie saying that. There was MDF cut for various speakers, but no finished stock sitting around waiting to be ordered IIRC.

I wonder if it used to be different, and that's why my orders shipped so much faster when I first started buying my speakers.

Being that they are an ID company, consumers want orders shipped as fast as possible preferably within a 24hr-48hr time period. So assembling your highest demand products to order does not make any sense. You would want inventory to resemble JIT. However, audiobytes might not be one of those. It seems they have a certain supply on hand of stock finished products because in my experience, having speakers shipped out even within the same day when ordered, is the most plausible.

The custom finishes is another thing. Since there is an up to multiple week wait time period, those are built and assembled to order.

Especially since my stock finish speakers have always shipped from New York, not Canada.

Maybe someone else that was in the group I toured with can chime in, but I know somebody asked about it, and I'm positive that that's the reply they were given. I just looked through my pictures again, and aside from a bunch of M3's on the assembly line, some in/on wall and other various small models on display, Ian's custom M80's, and a couple shelves of semi-manufactured speakers collecting dust, there's only "cutouts" (and LOTS of them).

Maybe they hold very limited stock in New York, but in all honesty that's what I remember seeing and being told; and my memory doesn't fail me too often smile.

Hi all,

All orders are shipped from the Axiom plant in Dwight, Ontario. We have an American depot to eliminate the cross-border shipping hassles that would otherwise occur with both shipping and customer returns and repair. However, that is simply a transfer depot. No orders originate from that location.

The Dwight factory does "runs" of different models based on demand and parts arrival.

Regards,
Alan

Hi Club Neon, It was brought to my attention by a few customers that the lable on their Axiom package was indicating USA as the origin of the shipping point. It was and still wrong; as Alan mentioned Axiom's Canadian factory is the single shipping point directly to the ciustomer. It was a source of confusion for the customers. I reported this to Axiom's shipping department. It was awhile back; I wonder if it was corrected or not.
