Have anyone ever considered the offerings from Dynaudio and Salk in comparable price range to Axioms flagship speakers for home theater? Very curious and just gathering information.

Speakers: Energy RC-70s, RC-LCR, RC-Rs and eD A2-300 x 2.
Receiver: Marantz 6006

Salk speakers have been on my radar for a long time. Not only beautiful looking speakers, with numerous options available, but I've only heard good things about how they sound. It looks like the M80s play lower than the Songtowers or SongBirds, those being the closest in price of the Salk towers to the Axioms.

Like any good speakers, each will offer excellent sound (or should) and any difference a matter of personal taste.

What models are in comparable price ranges? Certainly the Salk and Dynaudio flagships are in an entirely different price range than the M80's, are they not? If you wrap an m80 in some wood veneer I guess it would bridge the gap a bit.

Bluejay,

I think you may have misread my post. I meant comparable offerings from either company in reference to axioms M80, VP180 and QS8s. Comparable offerings such as the song towers from salk or maybe even the focus line from dynaudio.

Believe me, I will own a set of axioms finest before I will consider anything else down the line.

Seekinganswers, is there anyone near you that has either Axiom or Salk speakers to audition?

Contacting Axiom or Salk may be worth a shot.

I don't know about the Dynaudios, if there is any way to find an audition.

I am currently deployed right now and all over the place. I havent even been home to setup my energy in a 5.2 configuration yet. I know I want to try out axioms from all the good things ive heard. Salks and dyns have captured my interest recently and I am just trying to learn more and compare as a hobbyist would do.

There were plenty of times where I just wanted to pull the trigger on the axioms and be done with it. I think, eventually, axioms will be my bar for price/performance evualution. I just want to get a sense of how much better of performance over axioms you would really get by paying twice or five times more.

Hopefully I will get to audition axioms soon in my own place and its accoustics
