My long haired cat is getting a "summer cut" hair cut this Wednesday. I'll post pictures of her here so you can all point and laugh. That should make her feel better.

There's nothing quite like pictures of a shaved pussy

cat.

I'm sure it's one of those things where it's continually argued for specific species but for some animals, the hair helps to insulate an animal and keep them cool. Is it the same for cats? Probably makes a difference too if they are dealing with direct sunlight verses a constant ambient heat.

I'm actually asking, not arguing, by the way.

We used to have a Persian cat when I was a kid, and we'd get it shaved every summer. Being the small kid that I was, mom took one of my old t-shirts, made some alterations, and put the shirt on the cat.

It was funny watching a cat with a Superman t-shirt walking along the top of the fence.

Mine's an indoor only cat, so I doubt that it will affect her in any way. It will make my house more livable without all of the extra cat hair floating around.

Especially when it matched your underroos.

My dog's trainer just highly recommended this yesterday, and I found the Amazon reviews to be very high. We're going to try it.

Just took in a kitten I found behind my garage the other day. Got it checked out by the vet and am letting it and Buddy get to know each other very slowly. Photos when I get a chance.

They didn't shave her like I thought they would. She wouldn't hold still for that. She was comb trimmed with a Furminator. It changed her from a long hair to a short hair cat. She looks and feels tiny now. I haven't had time to take pictures.

The groomer suggested I get a Furminator. Same link as was previously posted in this thread.

I ended up getting one for short & long hair. Good for tics too. Yes I use Frontline.
