Wow, thanks for all the response, so i busted out a tape measure like suggested and realized that my ears are at 36 inches when im sitting down and at about 27 inches when im laying down on my couch, so i think im gonna stick with my original plan and go with 16 inch stands. Oh thx on the the pic btw, i made my tv stand so i did a lot of measurements and still had it all on the computer. Just had to add some stands to the side.

Don't overlook Alan's advice about getting the tweeters somewhere close to the same height as the center channel. That's not easy because the center is usually above or below the screen.

Also don't forget that the tweeter in the 22s is about 17 inches from the bottom of the speaker. So a 16 inch stand would put the tweeters about 33 inches. If you're looking for a compromise between 27 and 36 inch listening position, I guess that would do pretty well, as long as there isn't a HUGE difference between the height of the 22s' tweeters and the center channel.

I don't have the room for optimal placement of my speakers, and my 22s' tweeters are about 2 feet higher than my center. If I could, I'd get them closer. But, to tell you the truth, I haven't noticed any imaging problems. I attribute that to the VP150 excellent dispersion which makes the sound seem to be coming directly from the center of the screen, which is only an inch or two lower than the 22s' tweeters. It works for me.

Enjoy your Axioms!

I have mine on 21" stands. Puts them at perfect level. Ideally I'd like to have them the same height as my VP100, but I really don't want 30"+ stands with animals and kids.

well, right now i have the speakers on the floor, and i watched saving private ryan, and the only problem i had was that the sound didnt seem like it was high enough from the sides. The center was crisp and clear, i heard it perfectly, but i had to up the volume on the front right and left to get a decent sound field id guess youd call it. And as Alan said i shouldnt be too obsessed with the tweeter height, so im not too concerned with having the them all alighned. So i guess i was just trying to raise the sound height. Too late to change my mind anyway, already ordered the stands.

Well, I added some thick hardbound scifi books (at last the crappy pre-dune books have a purpose) to the 16in stands so my babies... I mean M22s are at about 24 inches. Looks like I need to find some solid 24 inch tall stands in SF. I got much better stereo imaging by raising them that high and HT was even better (I did not know I could get better smooth panning from left to right). Of course this could also be partly due to upgrading from the VP100 to the VP150. Again, Axiom customer service is hands down the absolute best I have ever experienced. Aime is a rock star!

Okay well i got the stands and got my speakers on em. Here for your viewing pleasure.

I havnt Listened to em yet, just got the stands a little while ago, figured i'd post a pic.

I had to stand on my couch to fit everything in due to the small size of my room.

Very nice!! I love the way these things all look.

I was just thinking, if you wanted some additional room, you could get that couch out of there entirely. You don't watch it or listen to it. What good is it?

I also notice that the wall behind your TV would support the installation of a 37" ED plasma very nicely. With the couch gone, you would be able to watch the new TV. OK , now I'm getting excited.

okay, but i do sit on the couch and is much more comfortable then sitting on the floor with my back on the wall. I cant tell if your being sacrastic, which i think you are.

And i would never buy a plasma as they seem to have bad rap as far as longevity of the product. Where I work, we just installed 2 plasma screens and they have already turned blue, within six months and the sides of the picture have seemed to shrink in. Some other flat Tv would also fit nicely there, but i have plans for a nice 30" 16x9 CRT HDTV, and thats why we made the tv stand that much bigger than my current tv.

The speakers look pretty good, and match you TV stand pretty well! How far away from the speakers do you sit? I'm asking because you seem to have a lot of space available and I'm wondering why the speakers are so close together.
