I made a mistake the prosecutor is Jeff not John but he is sharp like a John. These public soap opera court cases are a hoot. From an entertainment standpoint sidebar after sidebar really kills the flow though smile. But a spectator being held in contempt of court for flipping off an attorney...lol...anyone else been following this? It seems to me the state has presented a slam dunk case against anthony. The defense was rather incompetent at times IMO but I'd be interested in other peoples perspectives other than Nancy Grace smile. I got the OJ trial all wrong so it wouldn't be the first. grin wink eek

I've been following this case a lot. Even when you made the error in the prosecutor's name in your first post, I knew exactly what you were referring to. grin

The defense has been joke. Their story and all the witnesses they presented only seem to make it worse for Anthony. Seriously, bringing up how and where the family pets were buried?! Oops...that's just like Caylee! That was a huge wtf moment as far as I'm concerned.

I don't think the state has really proved Casey killed her by her own hand though. It could have been an accident, but getting rid of the body was ALL Casey, not George. It's ridiculous how they've tried to prove it was him. The only evidence they had that she drowned in the family swimming pool is...because they HAVE a pool! That's IT! So, I don't think she'll get murder in first degree, but she'll definitely serve prison time.

As for the guy that flipped off the attorney...I couldn't believe he got 6 days jail time for that! shocked It reminded me of a time in high school when I talked during a test, and the teacher crumpled it up and threw it in the trash. I guess you just don't DO those things! HAHA! grin

The state hasn't even proved how Caylee died, much less who did it. It wouldn't surprise me if Casey Anthony got off with time served and she'll be back to her partying ways in no time at all.

I like the judge, he's on the prosecution's side so I'm thinking she'll get a few years hopefully.

Casey Anthony lived four houses in back of us whenever we lived in Orlando and my son went to middle school with her, he said she was an idiot even back then.

That is one dysfunctional family.

That's interesting that your son went to school with her, Rick. It seems like she's never been a likable person.

I didn't realized how screwed up they were until the defense brought up her brother or father possibly being the father of Caylee. Perhaps nothing went on between them, but for her to allow the defense to go that route in first place would be a REALLY sick strategy if it wasn't not true. But, I wouldn't put it past Casey to ruin their reputation to save her own ass. She definitely seems like a complete sociopath.

The state pretty much nailed 1st degree with the rebuttal. We now know the grandmother potentially perjured herself on her testimony that she performed the computer searches (pre-meditation). You now have the mothers trunk that tests positive for human decomposition as well as testing positive for chloroform. That's some strong evidence. What does the defense have? A picture of a baby climbing a ladder of a pool with the help of her grandmother? LOL

So your a mother and your child goes missing for 31 days and you never report it to the police? Yeah that's so normal.

I agree with the whole sociopath thing.

In order to be really positive about this, I think the authorites very much need a can of air from above the computer keyboard. Is the stank more "mothery" or "daughtery?"

Here's how it's properly done, you stupid, stupid girl.

Stand Caylee right next to the pool. Put on your Skull Candy phones and blast your compressed tunes. On your way into the house to fetch her very favorite ice cream flavor, you must have bumped into her and she fell in. The headphones and music prevented you from hearing the small "kerplunk."

You thought you could surpise her even more by adding hot fudge and whipped cream. When you came out, four minutes later, the gate was open, so you frantically ran out into the street and to the adjacent neighors'. You never thought to check the pool.

n.b. Toddlers have an amazing capacity to be revived, especially from drowning. The colder the water, the better their chances of survival. I think the magic # is around 30 minutes.

See! 31 minutes, NOT 31 days, you inefficient little slut!

After the final closing statement, I'm convinced she's guilty...even to the 1st degree. I'm convinced it wasn't an accident now, and you can only conclude Casey would be the only one who'd benefit from Caylee being gone. Kidnapping by a stranger wasn't even a defense due to all Casey's lies, so who else could have done it?

Yeah. Ashton and Drane-Burdick very much brought everything together in their closing arguments. The most important thing for me is their explanation was rational and makes total sense! From her character, the lies, why she lies, motive, who benefits. I loved the audio tape Burdick played of Casey's first call to home from Jail in closing rebuttal. So powerful! I was absolutely glued to the television. Riveting!

To me, 1st degree pre-med is obvious but my hunch is the jury might come back with 1st degree felony murder.

Wow! Not guilty! She just might get time served on the lying to police officers and walk. Wow!

Today, the American Justice system proved to be a farce. No justice for a 2 year old. The evidence was pretty overwhelming IMO for any of those counts. On the other hand Casey can now live Bella Vita.

First OJ and now this! cry

I was mostly unaware of this case. I don't watch TV much, so I wasn't exposed to it. So, I've just finished reading about it from several internet sources. Now, I feel mostly sick to my stomach.

Everytime the authorites start digging, the remains of the victim are always under a big vinyl canopy.

You'd think search and rescue crews would spot them earlier.
