At first glance, at first glance everything looks good to go.. Hey, i even have 2 subs!!... Oh wait... something is missing!!... The amp on my Ep-600 started having some issues a couple weeks ago, after sending back to axiom.. After Chris looked at it, he discovered the main board is bad... i could either buy a new main board, for 250$, or a whole new amp for 650$ish, which will come with the new design.. My amp EP-600 was a first run unit.. so it is 6 years old.... Anyhow, i just though i would vent.. I am going to wait another month or so, and buy a new amp... I don't want to put the amp on a CC so i will tough it out until i have the cash available.

I cringe every time I hear of these amps going south, my 600 is on the six year mark and it's getting to the point that I'm almost expecting the sub to quit working at anytime.
These things weren't cheap!

it was pretty disheartening when they told me the main board was bad.. my other amps were manufactured in 1997..... and still going strong...

I'm thinking if mine goes bad I'll just spring for another make sub rather than spending 650 bills on another amp that might make the trip, or might not.
Sorry to hear about your amp Dakkon.
Nice setup you have going on there BTW.

Tough luck, Dak. Just for a better point of reference than just years, can you give at least an estimate of the hours you have on it? For example, I have about 12,000 hours on my EP500 in about 5 1/2 years.

Enjoy the music, not the equipment.

well, i got my projector at the same time i got the sub... i used the projector as a display for the first 5 years, this last year was the first year with the DLP. The projector bulb has 1,300 hours on it... so i would guess there are maybe 2,000 hours on the amp, i almost always had the projector on when i had the stereo stuff on...
So, for its age it does not have many hours..... I was in the military for the last 5 years, so i did not get to enjoy my equipment much.. that is the reason for the low hours...
P.S. Now that i have calculated it, i am even more depressed...

Kind of explains why the EP500 costs that much more than the 350, though.
