Would anyone know how I can get the full specs on the ax-2 floor model (not the ax2+2). Or at least what is the maximum power handling capability of the speakers. Thanks.

I believe your best bet would be to pm/email JC or Brent, or call the folks at Axiom directly.

Half of communication is listening. You can't listen with your mouth.

Or you could email Ian, he has helped me with a couple of my questions.

But JC and Brent should be able to answer your question as well.

TC, welcome. The specs for the older Axiom speakers can also be found here . It should be noted that the maximum power recommendation that you mention is relatively meaningless. Theoretically it represents the power that could be input without the speaker going up in smoke. Generally it's a conservative number and speakers of that quality can handle far more(in this case at least 250 watts)than your ears could without hearing damage.

The AX2 was tested in the April, 1990 issue of Stereo Review and was viewed very favorably. Among the measurements noted was frequency response within +/- 4dB from 40 to 20,000 Hz and handling an 1,100 watt input. The lack of coloration, strong bass output, airy highs, sound stage and power handling ability all drew praise.
