in looking at the specs and download manual for the M3v3 it is now showing 96db in Room efficiency? in looking at the "compare all bookshelfs" link or the combined manual from previous verious, it was 92dB, the m2 was 91dB, and the m22 was 93dBs.

so is the m3 actually more efficient now than the m22 by 3dBs, or is the website and manual wrong.

I am in the middle of quoting these speakers for the metal barn theater, and want the facts.

Use the anechoic specs as the baseline as they are non speculative. 96db in room is best possible scenario.

Take a pair of speakers and temporarily hook them up in this "metal barn" and compare them to what they sound like in a standard living room. Any room problems if they are real should be noticeable especially at increasing volumes. A metal barn (metal walls and floor?) sounds like a dreadful, overly reflective and fatiguing listening space for expensive speakers.

Randy will use some carefully placed livestock to treat the reflective surfaces.

I also noticed that, Randy, and the 4dB increase in the sensitivity spec also appears in the anechoic measurement(92dB vs the former 88dB). This appears to be rather unlikely, especially since the M22 is still shown at 89dB, and the M2, M50, M60 and M80 also don't show a similar increase(which would actually represent more than a doubling of efficiency).

Right John, that was what I noticed as well. At first I figured it was a website glitch, but when I downloaded the available pdf manual, it shows the same. Maybe someone from Axiom will comment.

Alan or someone else from Axiom, can you comment on why the SPL (both in room and anechoic) for the M3's have improved and the M2 and M22's are the same? Or, have they all improved and the website is just not updated?
