I have 2 or 3 CDs from them. They used to have sales and I got them cheaply.

I just ordered two of the dts CDs from Amazon for $3 cheaper per CD. But, as Peter says, keep your eyes open for sales at this site, and you might find them cheaper yet.

The surround mixes are generally pretty good. The recording/mastering quality varies, of course. (Hmm lemme go get teh ones I have so I can tell you more specifics.)

Here are the DTS 5.1 discs I have:

Verdi's Aida (Performers: Caballé, Domingo, Cossotto, Cappuccilli, Ghiaurov; Riccardo Muti conducting; New Philharmonic Orchestra; Chorus of the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden)
--This CD benefits greatly from the surround mix. The large stage of the opera house comes through well.

Holst - The Planets (Yoel Levi conducting the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra)
-- This CD doesn't have the best performance of The Planets, but the ambiance of the hall comes through nicely

Dave Brubeck Quartet - So What's New?
-- This CD used the surround channels very sparingly. Almost everything comes through the front. Good stuff, though.

Sting - Ten Summoner's Tales
-- I think this CD uses the surround channels too much. I guess I was too used to hearing it in stereo.

I also have two sampler CDs with both song and sound effect samples.

I'd recommend dipping into DTS CDs if you really like the addition of surround to your music. The quality/clarity of the recording, even though it's 20-bit, isn't any better than you can get with good standard CDs.

I HAVE to buy Hell freezes over...its an album me and my buddies listened to and sang with as we gluped barells of kingfisher beer back in bangalore.....some of the best days.....

the nostalgia this album brings to me......

so the question my mind is - DVD or DTS CD or both? I guess i will go with the dvd, will turn off the tv when i want just the music....

Raj I have the Hell Freezes Over DVD. It's very good. However from an audio standpoint, the Hotel California DVD-A is significantly better. I don't have a DVD-A player, just use my DVD player. Hotel California has both DD and DTS 5.1 tracks. The surround and overall quality is as good as any SACD I have. It's one of the top five surround discs I have. I definitely suggest the Hotel California DVD-A.
