I've been looking for a "monster" center for some time now & the VP180 sure fits the bill big time! From what I can gather the VP180 should mate well with neutral/warm speakers of another brand. My Polk LSi15's are (to my ears) a neutral/warm sounding speaker so I'm going to give the VP180 an honest audition in my system. If it works out maybe the M80 v3 towers just might be a future purchase. And lets not forget the QS8 v3's as a new surround pair to replace my Polk LSi/FX surrounds. One step at a time though to get started. Any thoughts on the VP180 blending with the Polk's?

Welcome Phil, I think it will work well, and it is a monster. I think the best matching left/right speaker is one with matching drivers but it should blend pretty good with your current speakers. Where do you plan to mount it?

I already have that covered. For my current setup, I have a Rotel RMB-1095 multi channel amp sitting between my mains on a homemade amp stand. For my current center I made a stand that goes over the Rotel. I just beefed it up a bit & made it bigger in anticapation of the VP180.

I remember auditioning the LSI15's a few years back and enjoying them a lot at my local tweeter right before they went out of business. For a while they were all over ebay at significant discounts as many of the employees who did not get paid for their last week of work took the merchandise home and sold them on ebay.

The "Big Dog" VP180 shipped out today. Will report back after it's up & running with my findings on how well it jells with my Polk LSi15's. This should be fun.
