Just curious whether I could use (i.e. is it safe to use) my yamaha receiver, Axioms, and HSU as a guitar/bass/whatever amp-- I've always heard it's not a good idea, but aside from 'too-high/too-low' frequencies, which I assume my speakers/sub just won't play and my receiver won't have a problem amplifying, the only problem which comes to mind is a likely input.
Oh, and if anything in the chain (the guitar/bass itself, or effects processors) would produce square waves?
Is there a converter from instrument-jack to RCA, and is the output a tame-enough voltage?
Basically, what would I blow up by plugging a guitar into my system?
