If you really like 3D, I'd stick to your present setup until you find a solution. I believe JohnK posted a link a few months ago showing a high quality DTS/Digital feed through an optical/coax cable can be indistinguishable from HD audio or lossless through HDMI.

Thanks for the suggestions and the welcome back! It has been a while since I logged in.
If it were only me to consider, I would likely choose the HD audio over 3D too now that I know how good is sounds. But the difference between 2D and 3D is way more noticable than the difference between "standard" digital surround and their HD counterparts to my wife and kids.
I was hoping there was something already available for this scenario as I can't be the only guy with this dilemma...oh well, I'll keep my eyes out.

a product (some kind of splitter?) that will allow me to split the HDMI signal so that the video section goes to my TV but the audio goes to my receiver using just the one HDMI out on my PS3 allowing me to get True HD and Master Audio?
Not sure how much you want to spend. DVDO EDGE (around $400-500) will allow you to have 3D pass through to your TV and will send the lossless audio to your receiver.
