I guess, no point of keeping to upgrade my DVD collection to crappy BD anymore. As a matter of fact, I better stop buying BD all together from now on.

I just hope there is "A" standard.

Not all of this applies to broadcast (some is acquisition only) but I'm tired of dealing with 1080P, 1080i, 720P, 480P, 480i, 29.97fps frame rates, 30fps frame rates, 24fps frame rates, Panasonic codecs, Sony codecs, disc based acquisition, flash-based acquisition on SDHC cards, flash-based acquisition on proprietary memory modules, etc...etc..etc....

There must be... literally... a thousand "standards" out there that customers bring me....

I think that they need to work on brightness/contrast/price as well as raw resolution. I see those issues even today with 3D projectors. 2D performance isn't improved much, but you now get 3D for $500 less than last year. Bah. I don't want 3D except in real life. I don't want (yet) HDHDHD without the other factors.

By the time I'm ready for Ultra-HD, it will probably be as cheap as the 720p TV I bought last year. I'm ok with being way behind the bleeding edge of TV technology.
