I'm not sure what a huge vertical center would get you. The reason that some are not satisfied with the VP150 is because of its orientation.

Those centers that rate better have a vertical arrangement of a tweeter & mid flanked by bass drivers for better horizontal dispersion of sound. The downside is you now have a taller center that is more difficult to fit in.

True.... however i don't want a vertical center.... ;\)

If it was priced the same as one M80 that would put it at $665 Not bad for a giant center channel. I would buy one in a heartbeat!!!
I am not saying that the vp150 is not a good speaker but judging the m80, qs8, and vp150 most people seem to be 100% satisfied with the first two and occasionally there is someone with an “issue” about the vp150 not keeping up with the left and right. In my opinion the center is the most important speaker in the 5.1 setup and having a huge center would be great! Just a thought…… smile

Thank you! Thank you very much... grin

I do have some great idea's laugh
