I didn't get it fully secured on the T-bracket, as near as I can tell. The bracket and the wall are fine, so my guess is that it was just sitting on top of the mount rather than being in it.

Pergo IS a thin layer of real wood (veneer). Boston Cherry Vinyl is not.

I do agree about waiting a while. Allowing time to grieve is important.
