Just wanted to say thanks to everyone on this board, who helped me make my decision to go with Axiom speakers. I recently purchased and received a pair of M22tis, a pair of QS8s and a VP150, and couldn’t be happier with them, both for their sound quality and for Axioms excellent customer service. I placed the order on Friday afternoon and by the time I got home from work on Monday they were here; I didn’t even have time to clear a space for them. Any way here is how the family reacted. Wife; “Are you really going to put those there” (she’ll come around) Son; “Duuuuude these bitc*es really rock” Daughter; “what ever!! Can I go to the mall”. Any way thanks again to all. P.S. (HSU VTF-2 Sub due in tonight!)

Same system as mine. You're gonna love it. Congrats.

Welcome aboard John!!

Your son, while using interesting descriptive choices, appears to have broken the code. The rest of the family will slowly and inexorably be drawn into an inescapable spell of much improved audio. Count on it. You may as well set aside some extra listening time for your CDs. It will be like having an entirely new collection.

Be sure to do the calibration thing; the improvement is noticeable. Also - subwoofer???? M22s pretty much need one of those bad boys.

Finally - the requisite request for pictures. In this case, a family portrait would also be nice.

OK - I think that covers everything. Ooops, Ajax will be stopping over for dinner and to check things out.

he mentioned he's getting a hsu. as an owner, I can definitely vouch that it's a great sub. Just make sure you have a copy of Nemo to test out the sub w/ Darla knocking on the glass.

I blasted the Darla scene last weekend to test my sub re-calibration. (I recently moved my SVS PB1-ISD into the very corner of the room when I rearranged a couple pieces of furniture.)

BOOM (rumble) BOOM (rumble) BOOM! If that's really what the fish hear, I'm never tapping an aquarium again.

What time IS dinner??????? Ray said that because I'm in a suburb of Cleveland, and you're somewhere in Ohio, too. What he doesn't realize is you could be several hundred miles from me. But, if dinner is something I like, I'm on my way.

Like you and oldskoolboarder I have the same system and I love it more every day (i spent last night listening to the soundtrack from "Oh Brother Where Art Thou"). Just wait till you get your sub and dial your system in. I like my M22s w/o a sub but I love them even more and I have a cheap one from partsexpress. It will make a significant and positive difference. Got your Avia disc and Radio Shack SPL meter?

Welcome and congrats on your new time sink!

Ooops - missed the comment on the sub. Just get too excited when another person is absorbed by the collective. Resistance is futile.

OT: since you mentioned resistance is futile. Anyone watch Enterprise last nite? (Awesome in HD...) Interesting turn of events. I think the Xindi are the new Borg...

I am a Trekkie from way back, but I just can't warm up to Enterprise. Seems like they decided to get mostly uninteresting characters and then spend $45-$50 per episode in production costs. My God, the don't even have shields. At WHAT is that cannon all about? While I am ranting, they aren't even beaming around - too scary. Pretty sad. Well, except for certain Vulcan crew members.

Pete, TNG is out on DVD; I've got the first season. I also noticed they just released the first season of Voyager. I've got most of the movies on DVD and they get multiple viewing. Between Star Trek and Stargate SG-1 (Season 6 is being delivered today!), my intergalactic needs are pretty much taken care of.

I miss it too. TNG was my favorite of the Star Treks.... So are one of you old Trekkers going to flame me for that? :P
I never really cared for voyager. DS9 was good for a few seasons and I watch Enterprise once in a while (I like Bacula and the alien doc), but not enough to know all the character names. The vulcan does not do much for me but that could be the over exposure to plastic boobies I experience here in the Bay Area. I do like Linda Park though.

Nice thread hijack, guys.

I'm with James R on the Trek comments. I liked TNG a lot, and we are just now starting to relive them in sequence by renting the stream of DVD's. Oh wait, that's a different hijacked thread.

I think the cast of TNG was fantastic together. It's a pity that their last movie (ST:The Wrath of Picard's Clone) was so bad.

DS9, however, was just fantastic, once they got the series off the ground.

I never got that into Voyager (I mean, I watched it all, but...)

Enterprise is pretty disappointing. I haven't watched for 2 weeks; maybe it gets better...

wow, i didn't mean to go that far OT...

loved TNG, I end up on SpikeTV a lot when it's on. Didn't like Voyager or DS9. Enterprise is good, not great but it is in HD. Character development is moving along at least. Also, I didn't really get into TNG until further into the series, probably after yar left. I think Bakula makes a good character though.

Ken,
you're bang-on. DS9 was incredible when it truly got going. Unfortunately, reruns are rarely on tv. Meanwhile, I could catch TNG 8 times a night if I wanted to!

The problem is, they cost a fortune. The Bab5 discs are way cheaper. And the Simpsons discs are cheaper still! Mmmm... Simpsons...

That's what I could have used my tax return for! Instead, I wasted it repaying my car loan.

Paying off debt is never a waste of money. Though I admit it's not nearly as fun as spending it on toys.
