Many of us have discussed for years about flipping the VP150 or VP100 over to angle upward towards the listener. This comes in handy when you have to place the speaker below a TV, for example. I was just watching a recent video on Youtube from Debbie at Axiom showing this benefit, based on the angled cabinet design. But, she then flipped the tweeter driver over as well using a cordless screwdriver.

I know there is an issue with dispersion when using a vertical speaker in a horizontal application, or vice versa. However, if you flip the speaker 180deg, I don't see the purpose of rotating the tweeter.

My previous 150, and current 100 have been used for years and sound fantastic without rotating the tweeter?

I saw that video earlier too, Randy. It perplexed me when the tweeter was rotated 180 degrees. I would like to know the reasoning for this also.

Okay, Randy; I watched the video and Debbie commented that the tweeter was "upside-down". Axiom doesn't show the vertical dispersion of the tweeter above and below axis in its "normal" position. Measurements of some other speakers show that the tweeters in certain speakers have better vertical dispersion either above or below axis and this would indicate that, for example, listening below the tweeter axis(if dispersion was better above axis)wouldn't be the best idea.

Since Axiom took the trouble to suggest actually flipping the tweeter around, it might be a fair guess that the upward dispersion measures significantly better that way.

Hmmm, ok thanks John, it does seem to indicate that...Before I go about flipping my tweets over that have been like this for years, I need Axiom to confirm. smile

I'll bet it's just so the word Axiom is right side up again.

But then she puts the grill back on, so you can't see that anyway, hmmm.

Just flipped over for people who don't have the grille on and want the logo rightside up. You got it! The grille went back on at the end just to finish the video up nicely smile
